TILES

A series of tables made from recycled agricultural waste materials.  The panels were the result of a research project to facilitate affordable social housing using locally available agricultural waste materials such as corn cobs, rice husks and groundnut shells in Nigeria by the Berne University of Applied Sciences.

The tables are simple interlocking shapes,  each made from a different recycled agricultural waste material. The table tops are attached to the supporting legs with strong magnets to simplify production, transport and self assembly.

PRIZES: The research Project was awarded a Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction in 2011
